Hands On Safety Training

As a part our client-consultant relationship, QuakeHOLD! Industrial will conduct "Free of Charge" employee safety fairs with the "Big Shaker." The Big Shaker is the world's largest mobile earthquake simulator, capable of simulating an 8.0 magnitude quake. Employees are invited into the Shaker to learn how to secure the space in their own homes, then the "Big Shaker" recreates the unforgetable chaos of a major quake. Plastic cups and paperback books fly from the shelves onto the floor - demonstrating why your employees need to secure top heavy furniture, TVs, electronics, wall hangings. and collectibles. Over 20,000 Californians have been trained in the Big Shaker over the past 24 months.

If an employee or a member of their family is injured at home during an earthquake, work will not be their first priority. This absence of injured employees in turn affects any firm's overall business continuity plan. QuakeHOLD! Industrial's Safety Fairs are designed to educate employees on how to secure their homes and protect their families by making available 72 Hour Earthquake Preparedness Kits. We stress that safety comes first, both at home and in the workplace.

At a Safety Fair we typically donate safety backpacks to encourage attendance. In addition, we hand out free samples of our QuakeHOLD! Putty, ideal for securing collectibles. We also provide the attendees free copies of "Putting Down Roots in Earthquake Country", an earthquake awareness booklet authored by SCEC and USGS. Employees always enjoy the Big Shaker, as it is a very realistic demonstration of just how devastating being unprepared can be. Our hands-on instruction shows how easy, affordable and reassuring it is to prepare their home for a major earthquake.
